With her comical face and gestures and unmatched movement and charisma, Josephine’s talent and gifts would be hard to surpass. By the 1930’s the world would come to know the woman who dared to express herself through movement and dance. Not only did she contribute to making us laugh, but she strived to make this world a better place in her philanthropic efforts to speak against racism. In Ms. Baker’s memory, I pay honor to her courage and action that paved the way for so many in the entertainment and fitness industry.
